Protein

I've heard that whey isolate is the best and purest form of protein from multiple sources. I wanted to know if anyone else can give me some advice about it? I want a protein powder that is unsweetened and that I can add into my own smoothie with out it altering the flavor of it. I am looking to tone up and lose about 10% body fat, I am doing insanity, I dance, do yoga, and occasionally run. I'm looking for thoughtful answers, no drama please. Thank you! :flowerforyou:

Whey is the most biologically available protein, so it is more easily used in the body for muscle repair and growth, enzyme activity, etc., then other forms of protein. However, in my 16 years in the fitness industry, I've never heard of an unsweetened, unflavored version you can add to anything. Personally, I buy EAS 100% Whey in both chocolate and vanilla. I drink the chocolate mixed with skim milk and the vanilla mixed with juice and frozen fruit to make smoothies.0

You can find unflavored egg white protein, or just straight egg whites.0

Egg whites instead of protein powder?0

I've had different brands of unflavored whey. Right now, I have unflavored GNC Pro Performance 100% Whey Protein. I also have NOW brand unflavored Pea Protein. I wouldn't say it doesn't alter the flavor *at all*, but less so than flavored, obviously.0

Above is link to unflavored no sugar added and one that is meant for weight loss not for body building. Don't get me wrong, I use the stuff at GNC that is meant for body building I just ignore the warning that says not for weight loss. :-)
I haven't tried this particular brand so can't vouch for flavor but hopefully with it being unflavored should be fine in that category.0 -

Thank you all for responding! I think I'll start out trying the Isopure and see how it goes. Can you also get that in stores? or is it only online?0
