Percentages of carbs, protein, fat

What percentages are recommended daily for each of these?

For the first 60 days of P90x I was on the fat shredder, I was on a 50% protein, 30% carbs, and 20% fat. I was taking in 1800-1900 calories a day. I will tell you that it was very very unpleasant and I would not use it again. Right now i'm shooting for protein 30-35%, carbs 50-55%, and fat 15-20% on any given day and clocking in around 3,000 calories to put on some size since I lost a considerable amount of body fat. Best the weapon you have in your arsenal to use is your own body, play around with the different percentages and see how your body reacts and adjust accordingly.

I do 40/30/30 (c/f/p) isn't supposedly the best for "optimal nutrition." It's been working for me at least!
  • percentages are misleading--just aim for a protein intake of ~1g per pound of bodyweight--this is MORE THAN ENOUGH and for fat about .4 grams per pound. As long as you're getting this much, as a minimum, you can let the rest of your calories fall where they may but just to illustrate...

if you're 150 pounds and taking in 2000 calories for example that would be:

    150g protein -= 400 calories = 20%
    60 g fat = 540 calories =27%

    TOTAL: 940 calories from fat/protein

    2000-940 = 1060 calories from carbs/265 grams = 53%

can i ask why it was so unpleasant? Ive just started aiming for this myself with a calorie consumption goal of 1500 (doing Ripped in 30, not P90x)
