Triathalon

The girl who used every excuse in the book to get out of gym has signed up for a triathalon - in two weeks.

I never thought this would be me. A straight-A student, the only class I ever cut was gym. Now I'm on a team with my husband - he's doing the swimming and I'm doing the cycling.

I've never done sports or anything competitive, and we're in it just for fun. But if there's any pointers from anyone out there on how I can get ready in two weeks, I'd appreciate it!

I'm going to the gym's spinning class four times a week, and going to go to the gym every day. Any tips?

    Triathlons are awesome!

How long is your bike ride?

Spin bikes don't pedal like real bikes. I'd spend the next two weeks biking outdoors as much as you can so you can practice shifting, going up and down hills, etc.

Oh and I forgot to say.... watch some Ironman on tv tomorrow. For inspiration!

I'm so happy for you! Triathlons are truly amazing. You're going to have such a blast.

Does your bike have clipless pedals? It honestly makes such a major difference in maximizing your pedal stroke efficiency. If not, don't worry about it, but it is something to look into. Just have fun!
