Measuring waist...belly button or crease?

Ive researched how to measure waist because I have a high waistline and my belly button is lower, and so I dont know which to use. Ive been measuring the widest part, which is where belly button is (I have that post partum diastis recti pooch).
Should I be measuring at crease when I bend? This is the smallest part of my torso.
Does anyone else have this issue? If so, where do YOU measure??

I measure at the bellybutton, but I don't think it matters as long as you measure the same place each time.0

I measure at my belly button and at the narrowest place and track both. I'm never sure what to do for ordering clothes or for those body fat calculators that ask for a waist measurement. the narrowest part of my waist is a few inches higher than my belly button.0

I measure at my natural waistline (where I bend), and 3" below my belly button.0
