I'm glad you asked. Now, you're going to have to get it imported from somewhere in southeast asia, but durian is a very special treat and great for weight loss.0

Well, fruits do contain sugars. But they are packed with fiber, which makes it dramatically different from the sugars you get from, say, a cola or a doughnut. Plus, you get vitamins and all sorts of good stuff for your body from them. I don't really think anyone got fat from eating fruit. However some people find it difficult controlling sugar consumption and some high sugar fruits may trigger more sugar consumption. I don't really think that applies to the general public and the benefits of eating fruit and veggies are well established so I'd just enjoy my fruits. But everybody is different, I guess.0

I eat berries 2-3 times a day. Blueberries especially. But I purchase blackberries, raspberries an strawberries weekly as well. I'll occasionally have bananas or apples for the nutrients they offer, but they are high calorie compared to berries so I usually eat them once or twice a week. Raspberries have good amount of fiber.0

Yes, fruits do contain sugar but they don't have the same calorie density as, for example breakfast cereal or bread and certainly nowhere near products made with refined sugar such as chocolate and candy.
As I said in one of my other posts one of the things I have done to make my breakfast lower calorie is to reduce the amount of cereal I eat and make up the volume with fruit. So far I have tried banana, strawberries, raspberries and blueberries for breakfast and, with the reduced amount of cereal, all have meant less calories overall than the amount of cereal I used to eat.
I also eat apples and oranges as snacks and these are much lower calorie than chocolate bars, muffins or ice cream.0 -

** And contrary to what some will post there is not such thing as good sugar. They all affect your blood sugar the same. The only difference on the fruit is fiber and vitamins.0 -
I truly think it's all about moderation. I LOVE the strawberries right now but also eat raspberries, blueberries, watermelon, and melons some. I could eat a pound of strawberries in one sitting and typically eat them on the days I do cardio and circuits.0

The way I see it, 2-3 cups of ANY fruit if substituted for a meal, is better for dieting. 2-3 cups of any fruit will be lower in cals than a 400-500 cal meal (although you will get no protein really). Substitute any fruits for a portion of your meal and you'll feel just as full. I like 4 berry smoothies I make at home. Super filling and lots of fibre. If you have a huge appetite like I do, fruits are awesome to fill up on. The only bad thing I do is eat 8-10 mangoes a day sometimes. That's as good as eating a burger but I LOVE mangoes!0
