Chicken soup and juice--worry about calories when you get well. :flowerforyou:0

Try oranges instead of orange juice, ginger and peppermint tee for decongestion. My grandma made this awesome cure all but it is killer on calories. In to a cup add the juice of 1 lemon squeezed, 1 teaspoon of ginger, 1 tablespoon of honey,(oi the calories) fill rest with boiling water and drink while still hot. Than jump in to bead and stay under the covers until you stop sweating. Repeat three times daily. It tastes like theraflue and it smells like theraflue, and it works very well.
Feel better.

Mmmm, that sounds yummy even if not sick! Kind of like a hot toddy minus the brandy! Yes whenever I'm under the weather I figure I need to take care of msyelf more than watch the calories and I always want my mom's chicken noodle soup.. I sip on orange zinger tea and take it easy, and of course still lots of water!0 -
I'm a RN and when you have a fever, it's more about water. Just keep hydrated, your body isn't doing a whole lot of metabolizing right now anyway, it's focusing all energy on your immune system.0

Just be sick and don't worry about calories. Life's too short and 1 or 2 days won't do any damage.0

Also remember that your body is working overtime and is using more enegy to try and clear the infection. Don't worry about the calories, just try to stay hydrated and get some rest. Don't exercise with a fever!0

Thanks to everyone for the advice. I guess i felt if i let myself not count while i was sick id be off track and im doing so well this time. I went to doctors i have a ear infectrion, broncitis and upper respitory infection>>>yum lol. i do have to go to work today
Even with all that the first thing i did was weigh myself. i think im sick in the head too. :grumble:
For the rn that commented, i hardly drank any water it doesnt want to go down. Iv been drinking some lower cal orange juice, diet v8 splash, and diet cranberry....do you think this is ok?0 -
Won't the people you work with appreciate it MORE if you keep your germs AT HOME? Seriously, you need REST in order to fight the bugs that have invaded your body.
I hope you read this in time to rethink going to work. Hopefully you have sick leave. If you have to take it as an unpaid day, I know that is tough, but taking it easy now might save you more missed days later. I am surprised your doctor didn't tell you to stay home!!! or did they ?0
