I don't know if anyone's European here, but let me just say... the semi finals of Eurovision nearly KILLED ME.

Personally, I'm hoping for Sweden and Euphoria to win, since I'm Swedish. And I really do think it's an AMAZING song.

What do you think guys? Who will win?

SO EXCITED!

I'm an Aussie living in Sweden, married to a Swede, and even after 10 years I still don't get Europes absolute love of Schlager, Eurovision is just about a national holiday here, but I'm sorry I can't even enjoy it when I'm falling down drunk, But I think it's amusing sorta, how the swedes love it so!

    IT'S SO GOOD THOUGH!

I had a severe heart attack last year when Eric Saade was on top for a while. It was amazing.

I only watch the final, so I've seen none of it so far - have only heard our (UK) entry, and a picture of Jedward.

From the limited experience I've had so far, things can only get better.

    Amanda, I love you.

I had a bit of a heartattack last night when I thought I was missing the actual final.

I'm in Scotland and love it... Not really the UK entries though... And I know we wont win!

My OH and I havent watched any of it this year as our plan is to watch the final, have a few drinks, pick our favourite song and then paint our faces in our chosen country's flag

    Immature maybe..... but I'm....excited!
  • Loooooooove Eurovision!

Can't wait to see the Russian grannies (did they make it through the semi's?), Jedward, Hump and anyone with circus acts/overused wind machine/loads of hairspray!

    *LOVE!*

  • I didn't watch the semi's, but I heard there are less ballads this year and more crazy acts? I hope this is true!

    6 hours to go!

BBQ first, then inside for Eurovision. Perfect. Only problem is, my laptop has only 4 hours of battery left.

I predict Italy will win with Denmark and Germany not far behind.

So tonight I have my friends coming round and drinking games lined up. I haven't drank a drop of alcohol for about 5 months so no doubt I will be squiffy fairly quickly :drinker:

Oh, I'm from the UK but not supporting The Hump because, well, it's crap!

Ditto that. I always decide who to support on the night, based on the song rather than the country, but I quite liked our entry last year. This year, not a chance.

My favourite language is Icelandic, so I always hope they'll sing in their own language. I think it's a massive shame when other countries sing in English.

I'm afraid Iceland are singing in English tonight. There's a lot in English this year from what I saw on the semis, I guess English ones get more votes because more people can understand them.

Meh. Ok. That's a shame. It seems to be getting more and more popular - if I want to understand them, I put the lyrics on the TV. Then I get all the funny phrases that don't quite translate, which add to the entertainment factor.

    Oh well.

nest year England and Ireland are going to combine their forces and enter a song by Jenglebard - it's sure to be a big improvement on their individual attempts:P
