do you add to your water?

I like to add these little packets of flavor to my water. Does anyone else do it? does it defeat the purpose of drinking water?

I go the all natural route to add flavor to my water. I am not big on processed anything. I make green tea and drink alot of it instead of plain water. There are tons of health benefits of drinking green tea too. I also spice up plain water by adding mint leaves, cucumbers, orange slices, lemon or lime slices to it.0

I buy flavoured spring water. I can't drink plain water.
I'd love to have something I can carry around and add to water anywhere, but I've yet to find anything nice here in the UK.0 -
I do for some of my water. I alternate. I drink like 16 glasses a day, so I like some variety. MIO is currently my favorite choice. Before that, I was using Propel Zero. I like the MIO because I can control how much I put in since it is a liquid. They also have a lot flavors I like (cherry, orange tangerine, and lemonade).0

I do this also, cucumber and watermelon are my favorite! It tastes way better than the packets and is better for you.0 -
I like to add lemon juice. Feels good going down.0

I some times do I've also heard some people add cucumbers to there water , then i read on Dr. oz adding cucumbers to your water works to shed water weight but i havent tried it yet ...:happy:0

Cucumbers/lemon/whatever fruit you want is always a great additive. I've tried this new product, Mio, too, and it was all right! Tea is great, iced tea for the summer of course. It's best to try and adapt to plain ol' water, though, if you can.0

PLain water all day at work, about 6 cups, then crystal light at home, another three cups and green tea without sugar with breakfast. I don't think it defeats the purpose at all. Just try to choose something with natural ingredients.0

I usually stick to the natural flavoring of water {unadulterated; fruit and vegtable slices}. Watch the other content of the flavor packets {sodiums; sugars and artifical preservatives}.0

I have noticed a strange phenomenon with dehydration...it makes you lose your desire for water if you are chronically dehydrated. Drink lots of water throughout the day for a few days, and notice how your thirst mechanism gets activated again. It may take several days, but you will like water again.0

Once in a while just a squeeze of fresh lime0

Long before I started my journey I loved the Crystal Light packets and Mio, mainly because I had a supply of bottled water left over from a sale during Hurricane Season and I couldn't stand plain water. Sometime between then and my journey (roughly a year and a half) I got really sensitive to artificial sweeteners. I don't mean sick sensitive, I just really noticed the sweetness and it was cloying and bitter. I even tried Stevia and spat it right out.
I've learned to like plain water so long as I can have a break from it every now and again with juice or even a diet gingerale. Variety's the spice of life, but I mostly drink water because I can have it cold, ice cold, room temperature, or even slightly warm if it's been in the car with me and still like it and have it quench my thirst.
However the other day at Cost Plus World Market I found unsweetened green tea (sencha) packets. I love tea, I have more tea, loose and in bags, than most people in the US but it's too hot for brewed tea and I don't have the fridge space to make my own iced tea. Anyway, they're the only thing I add to my water once in a while but I don't count it as water consumption since my personal opinion is tea is tea. As long as what you're mostly drinking is plain water there's nothing really bad about putting those packets and whatnot in every now and again as, say, a treat or a way to wind down at the end of the day.0 -
I do plain water at home and crystal light at work. I also keep a bottle of crystal light in a water bottle with me on the weekends.0

This, Not to ALL the water But 1 would say about half.0 -
Once in a while I'll add a squeeze from a lemon slice, but usually the only thing I add is ice.0

i add tea and coffee to my water, also lemon and ice:drinker:0

I do this. I use walmart off brand of crystal light. They have ones made with stevia which is all natural and they are really good. :happy:0

Yup. I use all kinds of different ones. I really like Crystal Light lemonade. I also use the True Products -- http://www.truelemonstore.com/
I think I average about 2 qts plain water and the same in flavored/tea/coffee/etc. per day. I drink way over the recommended but it keeps me from eating so I guess that is good.0 -
I drink from and refill my 32oz bottle of water all day. At dinner, though, I drink a glass of ice-water mixed with some grape MIO for some flavor.0
-
Sorry I didn't clarify. I usually only add to one drink a day.. just to change things up a bit. I drink 3 or 4 big bottles full of water before I have one with dinner that I add some stuff too0

i am all for fresh fruits in water. check out the app called Spa Water. Today, I've put fresh pineapple, watermelon, and lime to steep and I drink that all day long. Try the app and you will find oodles of recipes that make drinking water oh so "not boring."0

I add Mio to my water sometimes, mostly I just drink diet green tea and plain water.0
-
i really like to add that crystal lite green tea mango peach... yum0
-
I drink plain tap or bottled water, just whatever is available. On days that I run, I add Nunn tablets to my water. Its like gatorade without the sugar and other stuff you don't want or need.0
-
I use Mio berry pomegranate and fruit punch most of the time. I have to cut the Mio out or down to half0

MIO!0

Especially avoid anything with aspartame. That stuff is evil.0 -
If the packets you use such as Crystal Light have calories which they do, I would make sure to add that to calorie counter and I wouldnt add it as water because when their is additives in your water it isnt water its a flavored drink. personal opinion.. I only drink water and milk now0
-
i use Mio. i hate water, and only drink the required amounts if it's flavored, so if i didn't flavor it, i wouldn't drink it. i dont' think it defeats the purpose if it helps you to drink it. i will have plain water if my Mio isn't available, but that is rare.0

I make ice cubes with fruits like pieces o crushed raspberries, kiwi, lemon etc... in them and put them in my waterbottle. Only when I am really tired of plain water. it makes a slight difference which I like0
