It will never be better for you then water...and it does still have bad stuff for you in it. I also drink diet pop. I limit myself to one a day...it does help curve cravings. If it works for you then drink it. Try to aim to cut down over time. maybe to one a day.
Everyone is going to tell you how bad it is, alot of the times they are the ppl who smoke also, which is WAY worse.
Nobody can be perfect0 -
thatnkyou .. i do still drink my 8 glasses of water a day too .... just whn i feel a tad peckish like if im out and about instead of buying food i will buy coke zero ... or ill drink it in my lectures!0

soda dehydrates you so as long as you're drinking water i think it should be fine... but idk.. thats just my opinion0

You could do worse and if it satisfies some kind of craving, then all the better but....
The citric acid in the soda kills the enamel of your teeth and believe it or not, brushing right after drinking a can of coke is actually worse for you then not since the chemical composition causes the enamel to soften and brushing just doesn't do the softened enamel any good. I'm speaking from experience. My dentist is really upset that I still drink soda - soda of any kind, diet, clear, caffiene free or otherwise but I'm paying to keep her kids in school :P
I would start cutting down. I've done cold turkey and if I have a pop, i'll limit it to one a day, but even at that level, you're doing your teeth/bones/etc a great disservice.....I say bones because the citric acid also causes calcium to leach out of your bones......
I'd add more calcium to my diet on the days that I do drink the soda.....0 -
i love coke zero
i drink a can every day - if i didn't drink it after lunch - i'd just crash
I get the post-lunch coma lol!
i like the caffeine, it does suppress hunger a bit and it sure gives me an energy kick...i am sensitive to caffeine and I don't really crash afterwards....nothing like having a caffeinated drink and then going to work out ....woo hoo hehe0 -
thanks guys .. i also find that coffee helps;... do you think its the caffeine that is suppressing my hunger ??0
-
caffine may supress hunger but be careful too much can make you crash and have the oppisite effect...youll be craving sugar and treats0
-
I avoid it completely. I guess just reading all the research on it with artificial sweeteners and the effects on your kidneys, teeth, etc., I just don't drink it at all.0

Soda is absolutely horrible... no matter the calories or lack there-of. If you're getting hungry around that time, try a real low calorie snack like celery with a little peanut butter or some rice cakes. Better to have 40 calories in a rice cake than all that sugar, whether manufactured or real.0

I've heard that when we drink empty calories are bodies "search" for them making us hungrier...or something like that. Point is- it is better to avoid it. I LOVE coke, and miss it A LOT, so I understand your struggle. Plus the whole thing with chemicals, just say no0

Could be, but Coke Zero also contains phenylalanine. Phenylalanine (aspartame) is known to sometimes have a hunger suppressing action but is also known to have a lot of other side effects.0

i got asda coke zero which is free from asparatme or whatever its called thank goodness0

Diet sodas decrease calcium absorption, and can lead to to weak bones. They wreak havoc on your insides, and no one fully knows the effects of all that artificial sweetner. Anyone who can get off of them for good is doing their bodies a big service.
People pour cola on their car windshields to eat off all the built up gunk. If it cleans a windshield, I can only imagine what it does to our bodies.0 -
coke zero does have aspartame is in it. No coke zero is aspartame free.0

I have one now and then, it's good. I don't believe anything can hurt me unless I have too much of it. All things in moderation.
Probably 1 of those 20 oz. vending machine bottles a week. Fills a craving,,,0 -
Actually I've been soda free for at least a year now ... a couple of years back, i used to drink lots of coke etc, but somehow i just stopped doing that, now i maybe have 1 can in 2 months lol, so i don't have a problem with coke. On a different matter of coffee and caffeine, i used to have atleast 3 cups a day. Now since I'm on a diet, i get maybe 1 cup a day, and i feel LESS hungry then i did before... All in all, i don't think that you should be careful with soda intake0
