At the end of 2010 I looked at pictures of myself and thought: thats it, I AM going to diet. My face (and tummy) looked like they were blown up with a bicycle pump and my BMI was firmly in the Obese category with 31.8.
My weight in Jan 2011; 87.5 Kilos (193 pounds- or 13 stone 11)
and this is how I looked in October 2011:
(also viewable on my pofile, if this doesn't work)
I first spend a year of exercising every day, but not dieting. I lost a stone and a bit, but gained 8 pounds as soon as I stopped exersising in December 2011.
then my friend recommanded My Fitness Pal. My BMI was 29.9, and I definitly did not want to go back into the 'obese category', so i gave it a go.
I now weigh: 68.3KG (151 pounds, or 10 stone 11) My BMI is now 24.8- finally in the 'healthy category.
And this is how I looked yesterday:
I am not slim, I look pretty average now...But at least I don't feel like a 'Michelin Man' any more.
Health wise I don't feel much better, I always have been exercising, but I just enjoyed my food. I do however feel much more confident; I wore the dress in the picture to work yesterday. There is no way I would have let anyone see my legs at work before!
Yep, I feel great! Thanks to MFP.
I have not finished yet. I want to loose another 7 lb, and then I am fine to fluctuate up and down within the 'healthy BMI zone'. Soo pleased with my progress. I hope new starters feel inspired by it!

I will send you a friends request, am curious to see how you get on. One thing I have learned is to stick at it.. It took me 1.5 years, but it is soooo worth it. I hope the slow progress also means it will reduce the risk of quick gain once I stop the diet. That's worth bearing in mind when you plateau!0
