new and looking for some motivation

Hey yall! I'm pretty new here and losing weight is very difficult for me. Im looking for a couple friends to keep me motivated during this process. Im taller with a bigger athletic build. Im decently active. I work at a fitness center and I take my dogs on a walk pretty much everyday. Even when eating less than 1500-1600 calories a day and exercising the weight is not coming off. It is very frustrating and that is why I am reaching out for some people who would be willing to help me out and keep me motivated.

feel free to add me, I am on logging every day :) make sure your diary is open so that we can help eachother. Have you calculated your BMR and Tdee ? I was following mfp for the longest time and found that my numbers were way way off. try fit-fat radio it is the best one!

Welcome to MFP! Sometimes people reach a plateau and either need to change the eating or the exercising. What keeps me going is looking at the small changes in my body. I've got 75 more lbs to go and I don't see big changes in the areas I would like to (yet!) but I was able to wear an ankle braclet that I haven't been able to wear in years. It's a small thing but it tells me I'm on the right track. Add me if you want to!
  • well I just started about ten days ago... My diet plan is just watching my calories, proportions and trying to pick healthier foods. MFP wants me to get 1340 calories a day so with exercise I do a little more.

Welcome! I think I'm maybe even a couple days newer than you, and I too have had difficulties in the past. So far, I love the people on MFP. Good luck to you!

One of the biggest changes I made which (I think) had an impact, is to change drinking habits also, not just what you eat. I try to keep it now to water, black coffee, unsweetened iced tea, and the 'occasional' beer....or two. Not sure what you currently do, but I think slowly taking the sugars ot of the drinks in my diet helped a lot. Good luck, feel free to add me if you like :)
