Is there a website for trading clothes?

I just went through my closet and I have lots of clothes that are too big. I'm still afraid to get rid of all of them, but some of them I'm ready to donate. I spent the day shopping at Goodwill and Kmart looking for cheap clothes to get me through the next 30 pounds of weight loss. Then in occurred to me that I bet there is some website where people losing weight can trade clothes! I would happily mail some of my clothes to someone who can use them and would love to get a box of a few things in my new size from someone else.

Anyone know of a website that does this?

I was thinking the same thing got a ton of cute expensive clothes that fall off of me. Now I can't afford to buy any clothes to replace the ones I have...size 20 and now the 18's almost on way to 16s some fit...... And they are layne Bryant, Maurices, and stuff along those lines

I don't know of any websites, but I sell my old expensive clothes to consignment stores. I give my classic designer pieces to upscale consignment stores and my teen/still in-style pieces to places like Plato's Closet or Buffalo Exchange. Everything else went to Goodwill and the Ronald McDonald House.

Start a FREE CYCLE thread on MFP to find people in your town looking to swap or whatnot!

There is a thing I heard about which is not associated with MFP, but they are called Fashion swaps or Swap parties (clothes and other misc fashion items). I haven't tried it yet myself but here are the local webpages I found for my area.

I had to replace my entire wardrobe and still have a few suites to give to the cancer society. I would love to exchange stuff with others who have changed their size too. The intermediary clothes are the worst. I bought a dress I just loved in a size 10 and by time it came around for me to wear it. It was too big. I wish I had the foresight to buy it smaller.

I'm at that point again, ready to get rid of a bunch of clothes in the size 24 to 28 range. They are in my trunk and ready to drop off at Goodwill, but I would love to find a clothing swap site. Or maybe I'll just check out my local freecycle and see what I can find. But I thought I'd put this out there one more time to see if anyone knows of anything already established.

Just FYI, I found a great site for swapping kids clothes: www.thredup.com
