Best way to tone mid section?

I know that I can't spot reduce (shame!) but what are the best ways to tone up the middle? Lower abs too.

    Planks, crunches (if you're really ambitous, use an exercise ball, or your feet on the couch with your legs at a 90 degree angle. It hurts like hell the first few times, but it works a lot faster), reverse crunches (also kill, but work quicks), flutter kicks, twisting crunches (dunno if this is the name for them, but legs and shoulders off the ground, hands behind head and touch your elbow to the opposite knee). Those should give you a good start, and will work all sections of your mid section
