i normally eat so well during the day and keep my calories low (around 500calories max) but at night it seems like i don't have any control whatsoever over food! i just keep eating and eating sometimes almost up to 1000 calories!!! Its been happening a lot lately (TOM doesn't help!) and I haven't lost anything in a month..! I'm feeling extremely depressed right now over my binging i just want to stop and keep losing again. What do I do? :(

  • Eating 500 calories a day isn't eating "well" at all--it's actually unhealthy. You're binging because you are restricting yourself way too much. Imagine how much more at ease if you ate around 500 calories less than your maintenance w/ exercise instead of only 500 calories. Your binging is most likely a result of a psychological release; you're stressing your mind and your body out with your low calorie intake. I hope this helps (:

You were hungry. An adult needs to eat more than 500 calories a day!

thanks for your reply! But just so you know 500 calories is what i eat during the day until around 4pm because of my work and I don't have any appetite in the morning, lunch is also a rush so basically i try to save most of my calories at dinner and later. I'm aiming for 1200 calories/day. My BMR (based on body fat calculator) is 1250 so I guess that's enough to lose 1lb/ week. I also exercise daily for an hour. The binge just seems to stop my progress and I even feel my c lothes are getring tighter even thoughweight stays the same :(

It sounds like to me that you may not be getting enough calories or even the right kind of food. Sometimes even 1200 calories is too low. When we binge is most of the time result of our body crying out for help because it's not getting what it needs. Also for me, as an ex emotional eater, I know it can be physiological too. If you need any help feel free to add me!
