Please tell me if I have this right

First, I know this topic has been beaten to death. I have spent the last 6 hours or so (yes, that many) reading up on this and trying to figure it all out using a few different sites. I believe I have come to understand it but I need clarification to ensure that I am right. Theres just so much to grasp and understand it can be confusing. I am 272 lbs, Male, 21 years old, and 190 cm tall. I'd say moderate exercise going to the gym 5 days a week 60 minutes a day?
My BMR is calculated at 2400. This is how much I burn daily just by being alive. My TDEE is 4000 (+/- 50 range). This is how much my body needs to consume to maintain this current weight? The daily calories I would need to consume would be 2900 to lose at least 2 lbs a week. This is with moderate exercise factored in (+/- 750 cals a day..)..
Do I have that correct, or at least somewhat? It's quite confusing but I want to get it right for the most part so I can take full advantage of my workout and weight loss.
Thank you !

This looks like a good place to start,
Remember that all these numbers are estimates, so try this for a month or so and see how your body responds.0 -
Thanks.. I am going to go and buy a scale today.0

Buy a digital FOOD scale as well.
Thanks for the reply.. I just got home from buying one!! I meant I was going to buy a digital food scale, hehe. I should be more specific next time. I am playing with the scale now. I weighed a slice of bread I was going to have for lunch and surprisingly its telling me theres 151 calories in it..0 -
What kind of bread was it? Switch to pumpernickle...high in fiber and lower in calories.0

I would be very careful of making statements like "my TDEE is 4000 calories". Unless you have that rigorously tested in a medical facility under strict supervision, you don't know that. It could be significantly more or less depending on your body's unique chemistry, and an online calculator cannot tell you that.
Find a caloric intake where you are not starving, but not eating beyond being mildly sated, and you should be fine. Dieting isn't supposed to be comfortable; you're starving your body by a certain amount to lose weight. Your body won't like it, but you'll like the results as long as you do it right.0
