but what are the signs of a food allergy?

I had 3 small shrimp, today and my throat feels weird, tight like... I can still breath, and as far as I know I don't feel any other symptoms. I am just wondering, should I now stay away from shrimp.... or is it something I shouldn't worry about.

That's exactly how my throat felt when I was diagnosed with a food allergy to chicken. Tight and kinda hard to swallow, but I could still breath.

you should probably talk to your doctor about having an allergy test done --I had a while ago, they make a lot of tiny pokes on your back then swab each one with what you might be alergic to..its a little uncomfortable and your leg shakes like a dog when you scratch your back after its done but its harmless and not painful. It might be all shellfish or just shrimp but you should know for sure so you don't have an emergency situation. Best of luck to you!

Then I shall stay away from it,

Today, is only the 3rd time I tried it in my life. And I never had a food allergy, or any kind of allergy before. So, it kind of made me worry

Yep, could be an allergy. I am allergic to shrimp and shellfish in general. Swell up like a balloon. Best have a test done to verify as it could mean you have an iodine allergy (like me). If so you do NOT want them to give you the contrast dye for a CAT scan, it could kill you.

I learned that the hard way when I nearly died during a CAT scan. Get tested.

I will ask about the test, later.... I haven't been to the doctor's office in 10 years. No insurance...
