stretch marks

Do stretch marks get smaller when a person loses weight? I have heard that more can form
from weight loss

I've been covered in stretch marks for years (some from puberty, some from weight gain) and I've noticed that they get thinner and lighter as I lose weight. They used to be dark purple and now they're very light, either skin tone (on the larger ones) or white (on the very small/thin ones).

Major weight changes over a short period of time can cause them, gaining or losing. I had never noticed any until the first time I lost a lot of weight. Some are bright red (in the inner thigh area) and some are almost silvery (around the hips and boobs)

My stretch marks have eventually faded, you can still see them but they're not as pink or wrinkly as they've been there for a while. I hated it when they were reddish and really visible. The only good thing about mine is that they're on my lower tummy and hips and only slightly on my arms so it doesn't stop me from wearing short sleeved tops. x
