Does anyone ever feel like "what is the point". I mean, I have done so good in the past two weeks, I am down 10 pounds and am sticking to my eating plan and exercise routine, I don't see a difference but I am proud of myself, and then someone takes my picture and I still look like a beached whale. I know it takes time but sometimes I just feel like throwing my hands up and saying to hell with it........

That's why I also post pictures of a bear and my dog, instead of me. I've tried to find a good picture from recently, and haven't found any. I always have a double chin. But I'm on a quote day today, so Chrissi, don't you dare give up! And feel free to vent anytime.
Never, never, never give up.

You are absolutely not alone...I will be going along with a fabulous, positive attitude and then an unflattering angle in a mirror will send me reeling.
A good thing to realize is that anybody can take an unflattering picture...just pickup any supermarket crappy tabloid...the camera is no one's friend.
And, like time2wrk says...it really is about how you feel. Ten pounds is a lot. Pick up something that weighs ten pounds and carry it around for a bit...then put it down and notice how nice it is not to be carrying that all the time.
I too have asked myself "what's the point?" Here's the point...living longer...having more energy...feeling better...taking the time to take care of yourself...that's the point!
Don't quit! We're all with you!:flowerforyou:0 -
Absolutely, don't quit! 10 pounds is great progress. If worse comes to worse, maybe take a day off from counting and indulge yourself a bit. I find it makes it easier to get back in the swing for the next week.0

Sweetie I TOTALLY understand your feelings.
I have said this before….we didn’t gain it over night and we can’t lose it over night. It takes time. Be patient. Time will pass….it ALWAYS does. Make use of that time by sticking with your life style change. Keep on keeping on and before you know it you will reach your goal. Don’t dwell on it. Keep your mind and hands busy…..keep your eye on the prize.
People who haven’t seen me in a long time I have to re-introduce myself to. This past Christmas I saw my cousin for the first time in a long time. When I walked in my aunts house my cousin stood up and introduced her self to me. I thought she was goofing around with me because we hadn’t seen each other in such a long time. So I shook her out stuck hand and said hello it is good to meet you. PURE SHOCK went across her face. My husband heard her out it the street. She didn’t recognize me until I spoke. She could not believe her eyes. She thought I was my daughter-in-law’s mother who she had never seen before.
It took me close to 2 years to get to that point though. I don’t know how much you have to lose but honey PLEASE BELIVE ME YOU WILL GET THERE TOO. Don’t give up and like I said KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE PRIZE.
YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
Always remember we are here for you.

Hi I know just what you're talking about. I just keep remembering 'this is my life' :flowerforyou: If I don't do it, no one else will So I'm doing it for me and I'm worth it! Besides, I really love it when I did look good...I wanna be there again.
Yeah, and when I need motivation, I just take a look at Loretta's picture. And I think...man, she went further then I need to and she looks great! Here's one for you, Loretta. And your daily support! :drinker:0 -

We have all been where you are. And one day you will look back and say the same thing to someone else. We wouldn't be the people we are if we hadn't lived the lives we have lived. Remember that when you are feeling down.
Not to offend anyone here, but im sure i might...
The most wonderfull people i have ever met have been through a day like yours. It builds compassion and character in us. Even if we don't want it. Have you ever noticed, when you meet some one you think has it all...looks, sex appeal, thin ankles...you envy them. You think they are incredible. You want to be just like them...and then...they speak. And you realize they are far from perfect for one reason or another. On the other hand, you meet someone you normally wouldn't take a second glance at. They are just not your type. You spend time with them anyways, you laugh, you share, you learn, you give. Then one day you look at them and wonder what you ever found wrong with them in the first place.
I guess what i am trying say, in my long winded way is...it is not the packaging that counts, but the gift inside. You have a wonderful gift inside of you waiting anxiously to burst forth. The small set back in you mood only serves to help that flower within you grow. Remember when you feel this way that every thing you do to shed the pounds brings the world that much closer to the real you, and what a treat it will be for them.0
