Less sugar?

I am trying to loose over 100lbs and i have been up/down my whole life with loosing the weight and keeping it off! I need to know what kind of foods would work to get atleast half of the weight off ina year? Whats the things i should go away from and start looking towards eating? how much sugar is to much... && i dont want to go on a "diet", I want this to be a life change! Hope to get some advice thank yoooou! This site really keeps me motivated ! (:
