What would you choose from this menu?

So I'm trying to be super prepared because I'm going out for dinner at a Malaysian restaurant tonight, and I even looked up the menu.

I'm vegetarian, so any ideas on what to order from the vegie section? They all sound sneakily oily (not to mention PRICY!), but I'm saving a fair few calories in anticipation of this fact. If anybody who knows about such things has 30 seconds to shed some light, I'll love you forever!

Yum, there's some great looking stuff on that menu, but I agree, I don't think you're going to find much that is low cal.
That's an amazing menu really, I've never seen Malaysian style food made with crocodile or emu or roo before!

If you eat seafood (probably not, as you are vegetarian) the prawn tom yum would be a good starter.
Otherwise, for the lowest cals, I would go for the stir fried (sacred?) veggies and steamed rice.
If I was eating there - I'd pick the gado gado or the green veggie curry, because I like them. They won't be low cal, but would be a delicious treat.

Enjoy your night out. (I'm off to find out where this restaurant is now, the prices make it look like Perth, but I've never heard of it, so I'm guessing not).

(Damn, Bendigo - I won't be there any time soon, pity!)

Hahahah. yeah Perth to Bendigo is a pretty committed commute just for some Malaysian! Thanks for the help... I might just have to fit it in with my plan this week somehow... :)

The hot pumpkin curry sounds amazing and so does the massaman curry or the vegetarian noodles.

Rice noodles aren't especially calorific compared with anything stirfried or battered so if I were being especially calorie-conscious I would pick the vegetarian noodles.
