Vitamins ect?

I take an iron pill and a womans once a day multivitamin

is there anything else i should be taking? I was taking flax to help with protein, but have been told that protein powder would provide more protein.

should i continue with the flax? add calcium? just stick with my multi....or anything else i should be taking?!?!

    I would add a calcium/magnesium and depending on your climate I would add a vitamin D. both are inexpensive.

    Vitamin C is very good for you and excellent for your skin, it helps regenerate and keeps your immune system functioning at a healthy level. You can use pill form or there is a powder brand called
    Emergen-C that has all different flavors that you can mix in water. It also has 32 mineral complexes and B vitamins-worth a try :wink:

    sunkist makes delicious chewable vitamin C. they have a cherry flavor that tastes great!

    If you're taking a multi then you are covered in all aspects.

    I take a prenatal multi-vitamin every day (I'm pregnant, before that I took Women's One-A-Day too). I also take:

    Omega-3
    Calcium

    I take my calcium in the morning, omega-3 with lunch and the multi-vitamin with dinner.

    Your body can only absorb 500 mg of calcium at a time, so I take mine morning and night for this reason.

    If you have a multi-vitamin, there is really no reason for any more vitamin C. Too much of any vitamin is not usually a good thing. There is vitamin C in so many other foods that you're probably getting plenty of that with no additional supplementation.

    Calcium with Vitamin D would be a good thing to add. Make sure you take your calcium 2 hours before or 4 hours after your iron supplements because calcium can affect iron absorption. I noticed a weight loss after starting calcium, but it soon tapered off. If you're calcium deficient, you may notice a slight loss in the beginning. Try the sugar free chocolate calcium chews- they're actually yummy.

    I also take Probiotics and Omega 3's because they're so important to overall health.

    i'm getting plenty of vitamin a and c, so theres no concern there!

    The flax pills i've been taking have omega 3, and are good for vegetarians so i think i'll stick with those and then add some calcium

    I just looked online and London Drugs and they have "Calcium Magnesium Citrate with D" so i think i'll pick up a bottle and start taking those as well.

    There are differences between calcium carbonate and calcium citrate that you should look into before choosing one or the other.
