You don't need to combine anything with P90X or Insanity. You'll burn plenty of calories.0 -
I'm starting p90x in a few days based on the results I've heard from that one :0)0

I've just finished Ripped in 30 last week and really wanted to do p90x but friends talked me into Insanity because I still have quite a bit of fat to lose. However, I love strength training and find it very effective for fat loss! So after two days of Insanity, I gave up and am now doing p90x! And loving it!! This is much more my speed, plus I like Tony.
Bottom line, go with your gut. They are nothing alike, so based on what you know you like and respond to, you should be leaning one way or the other. That's the one you will stick with.0 -

I'm doing Insanity and I like it so far! I love Shaun T, he really gets me motivated. I chose Insanity because it's more cardio so it's better for burning calories and fat, but you still do some bodyweight stuff so you should retain your muscle just fine. I also like that it's a 60-day program instead of 90 for P90X. Also for P90X you need a few types of equipment; you need nothing for Insanity!
Both are great workouts and it really comes down to what you want. Are you looking to lose weight and fat, or build muscle? If you want the former, go with Insanity. For the latter, choose P90X.0 -
For the record, there are 3 options for P90X. I'm doing the lean version and without some of the equipment.0

Thank you all for your advice!!!0

Depends on your goals. Insanity is intense cardio. It is tough. defintely not for everyone. P90x is mix of cardio and strength training. it can be modified.0

I did the Insanity and it was a ton of cardio...but worth it. I wasn't weighing myself then but I was totally toned and happy with myself by the end. Borrowed the P90X from a friend and tried that but I couldn't get into it as much probably because I didn't have to lug out equiptment for the Insanity so I could just turn it on and go. I hated both trainers.0

I started out with P90X, but switched to Insanity because I wanted more cardio. I haven't completed P90X, but I have completed Insanity and it really works for me - it improved my fitness so much, I am still no athlete but I am fitter now than I have ever been and slowly shifting excess fat! Depends what you're after, both programmes are great.0
