I just reached my first goal of 10 pounds today!!! it feels amazing! [done tooting own horn]
Something you may all find encouraging...or at least interesting.
1 pound = 4 sticks of butter
I have lost 40 sticks of butter since I changed my lifestyle. Even if you have only lost 1-5 pounds, that equivalent to 4-20 sticks of butter. Good perspective? I think so.
I want to encourage everyone out there to keep going. I started MFP in February and since have not only 10 pounds, but encouraged my Mom, sister and Dad to join! We have lost a combined 124 sticks of butter!!! There have been periods of weeks at a time with no real weight loss, just the continual realization that what I am doing is for the long haul.
