Long Weekend Woes?

Stop stressing. Remember that a bad few days in the grand scheme is NOTHING. Heck, add in another day of overeating if you feel like it. The reality is you may bounce up and down a few pounds in a couple of weeks, but if your end goal is to be a healthy weight for life and to live a healthy lifestyle - look at the 2 weeks on the timeline. It's a BLIP.

Stop stressing over a few mistakes or a few smiles over a coke or beer or hamburger. Life is too short to stress over your eating. You're here, you realize there's an issue and you're working on it - so stop beating yourself up over a couple hundred extra calories.

Learn to love your decisions, mistakes and all.

Excellent advice. My dad lost about 50 lbs on Atkins several years ago and keeps it off. But when family get-togethers come around--he eats what he wants and doesn't worry about it. I learned that from him. Make good choices most of the time and the blips won't matter.

This was really perfect. I struggle with negative feelings when I eat even a bite off plan. I realize that this is an unhealthy way to think about food and eating and I'm working to undo years and years of this kind of thinking. THANK YOU for this thread :)
