so tomorrow night i am going to my great aunts for dinner, the menu (bless her) is minced meat pie(with pastry) and mushy peas followed by cherry crumble and custard?
so i know how to log the peas and custard but the rest is all homemade and was wondering how you guys think i should log this??
i will eat light tomorrow and have saved around 600cals since sunday to try and cushion the blow
i know i could ask her for a recipe or something but i honestly cant see her using one and even if she did id feel so rude!!
i realise it will all be guess work

Sounds like you'll have to do an informed estimate. I would go online and look for a similar recipe that give nutrition information.
Allrecipes.com is generally a good resource.0 -
Not sure how to log this, but if I was served this meal, I would log very few cals, as that does not sound very good to me. Just my opinion! Sorry!0

First, google a few recipes/calories, make your best guess. You know what's in it better than we. If your great-aunt tends towards the 'hearty cooking' side, choose among the higher calorie ones.
Secondly, relax, 'cause even if you're off by 900 calories that'll put you off by a quarter-pound over the week. As long as it's not a habit (if you go to see her every week you might have to be more careful) you'll be fine.0 -
Sorry, I got lost at saving calories. How does that work? I didn't even think that was possible.0

why would it be impossible? just eating less in the past couple of days has meant ive saved calories from my weekly recommended intake very simple
not everyone agrees with this but im not really bothered0 -

so because you dont like it you wouldnt log it?0 -
If you search the database on here there is quite a lot of minced beef & onion pie nutritional info- the shop bought ones ranging from 430-500 cals so i would make a safe estimate at 500 cals for the pie, and about 115 cals for the peas.0
