ok, so some of you know that the past few weeks have been weight loss hell for me......no self control, digestive issues and my treadmill broke.......but.........everything's back on track! I kept getting stuck at 177 - 178 and this morning i'm 176! I'm averaging about an hour on the treadmill at 2.5mph at level 3 incline......so about 2 1/2 miles a day brisk walk and when i went gorcery shopping yesterday i was so proud.....i didn't buy any junk......except for diet mt. dew for my 5lb lost treat. i mean, i have nutella in my cabinet but i ain't throwing that out!
and i should add that northland's dark juices....100% juice......in black cherry goji.........fricken' delicious!
instead of the asian diet my doc reccommended (i really didn't care for some of the flavors) i opted for lots and lots of fruits and veggies, sprouts and whole multigrain bread. and it's working! yayay!

  • Hi. Rachel. You are doing great! The Nutella is good since it a "protein" for you (I myself have been wanting to try it out). Since you have "digestive issues" may I suggest you drink a smoothie for breakfast:

    1 large banana
1/2 cup plain vanilla non-fat yogurt (with live cultures)
8 ounces of soy/skim/low fat milk
    6 ice cubes

Blend, garnish w/strawberry, and use a straw. Since bananas are cheaper by the bunches, buy the very green large bananas. Store at room temperature. When they are ripe, peel, cut in slices, and add in zip lock storage bags, and freeze. You can have a smoothie every morning. The yogurt with live cultures helps with digestive issues (I'm living proof).

For another "snack" that also helps with digestive issues is peanut butter. Eat a large ripe banana and at every "bite" add a spread (w/knife as spoon is too much) of peanut butter.

I have lost 20 pounds and give out "tips" to all who want to lose weight. Since your treadmill broke why not go power walking for an hour? I do that M/W/F at work (2 miles during my lunch hour), and I have added weights on Tuesdays. I am training myself to "jog" and have "upped" my exercise regimen. I have to also "add" that I weigh myself once a month....I just did this morning (15th of every month) and I weighed in at 169.4 (I FINALLY got out of the 70's)

    Blessings!

  • Thats great to hear! You really do need to make a lifetime change and learn to eat right. Sure dieting will take it off, but when you go right back to your old eating habits, the weight will come back fast and you gain more, I know this from my own experience! I am glad to hear that you are now going with veggies, fruits and whole grain. 5 things to stay away from our, processed foods, enriched flour, High frutcous corn syrup, anything that says natural flavor (MSG), sugar. Good luck on your weight loss journey and a lifetime change for a healther life!

Since you have digestive issues, try Dr. Jordan Ruben the Makers Diet. It is a 40 day diet, that is broken up into 3 phases, the first being a detocix, my husband has Chrones as does Jordan and in the 40 days he went for his death bed to a health, no problems guy and my husband is doing great! It also helped me with cravings and to lose weight as well.

    God Bless, Alecia
  • Thanks all!
    Escpecially for the recipe...sounds yummy.
My treadmill is fixed now. The card broke off in the power slot. :)
The asian diet is just chinese/japanese cuisine. nothing special.

I recently bought a peach detox tea from Yogi and it seems to be doing the trick!

Congrats to you guys for your progress!!!! What's that saying? "It works if you work it!"
