Scared!!!

I upped my calories to maintenance!!! MFP has me as 1700 WITHOUT exercise!!!! its so scary!!! i feel like i am eating a lot and i know everyone says to trust the website but i have gained 4 pounds!!! other than that i am scared that all the weight los work i have done will fade away and i will gain all the weight back again!!! i also cannot exercise for the next 3 weeks due to final exams! :grumble: but i am just so scared at the amount i am eating WITHOUT exercising..

    OK, if you are gaining, I would just back off about 100 calories a day for a while and see how that works. We all have different basal metabolic rates. Yours may run low, especially if you don't have time for any exercise right now. Hang in there. As long as you are monitoring things, you can make small adjustments and be ok.

    I gained four pounds on maintenance at first, too. They have since come off, and taken three more of their friends with them.

    I know it's scary. Your body is re-adjusting to eating. You've deprived it for a long time. . .why not take a month without the scale, follow the program and trust it.:flowerforyou:

    Having 2 daughters at the same place you are I can understand how you're feeling. Finals stink and the stress is enough to send anyone over the edge. Hang in there and when your stressing, go for a quick 10" or 15" walk/run, do sit ups, or anything to get you up and moving. The break will clear your mind and the endorphins released during this quick bout of excercise will put you in a positive frame of mind. Hang in there in good luck on your finals:happy:
