Does anyone use the bodymedia armband or fitbit? I can't decide which one to get.

Thanks for your feedback!

I am by far NOT an expert. I purchased a fitbit on ebay about 2 weeks ago. Initially it was exciting to see the results. It was relatively simple to set up too. But as I looked into it further I got really confused. It's website is not user friendly. You have to be careful when driving, in an elevator, etc...It does not measure effort in any way. I'm finding it to be a really cool pedometer. It is nice that it's small and can be easily hidden though.
All that said, I just bought a bodymedia armband on ebay too. I'm planning to wear both for a week so I can compare, decide which to keep, and sell the other.

I love my Fitbit; but I have had some quality issues and have had to have it replaced twice. They have been terrific; but it has been annoying. Love the Fitbit site; it connects well with MFP. You just have to log food and exercise in MFP and Fit Bit makes the adjustment based on the steps you have done. The altimeter is great too. I really do love it; but I am interested to see how your other one goes.

Don't have a BMF yet, but here's a site to compare products:

    http://www.bodymedia.com/Shop/Learn-More/What-is-BodyMedia-FIT

click on "Learn More", then on that next page top right "compare"

I'm curious to see answers to this one. I've been considering getting a pedometer for my husband, but perhaps one of these may be a better investment. Thoughts?

I prefer the fitbit. It is small enough and mobile enough (put it in pocket, put on waistband,or put on bra strap) that it can be hidden. I really don't like the size of the bodymedia. Sometimes I really don't want anyone asking me about my weight loss journey.

Connecting the fitbit with my fitness pal has really helped me alot. I have read alot of posters to get the best use of the fitbit.

I record my food log and true exercises on my fitness pal. That syncs with the fitbit, so I can wear the fitbit throughout the day and it knows when I have exercised.

I like I can see the data on the fitbit at any time. It helps me know when I should get up and get moving a little more that day.
