So I entered my 2 hours of lawn mowing (riding mower) and it says I burned nearly 500 calories - how is that possible?

By the way, I'm new to myfitnesspal - looking forward to the weight loss!

I honestly don't see how it would be. I wouldn't log it.

    I could see maybe 500 after 2 hours with a push mower....but a riding mower....hmmm

I wonder if that means that I can log my work commute since it takes an hour. Who knew that I burn 200cals just sitting in my car? I wouldn't count it. I do count pushing my lawn mower since it is essentially walking.

Do you have a heart rate monitor? Might want to use that next time--seems pretty high. :) Good luck on your weight loss!!

if it sounds absurd it usually is absurd. sitting on a mower for 2 hours is sitting on a mower for two hours.

while on MFP, don't forget to occasionally use your common sense.

It should have only logged around 350 calories.

    Seriously?

I should be tracking the calories driving to work!
