Same weight since April 12!!!

I'm sick of this! I haven't lost any weight in over two weeks! I'm thinking about lowering my calories. I've read some other comments
on this sight that they lowered their calories only by 1-200 calories and they began to lose weight again. YOUR THOUGHTS?
P.S. I'm at 1200 calories + about 450/day exercise calories. That's 1650 calories I'm taking in (I know I'm burning off the 450).

I would probably try to take it down to the 1200 mark. Don't add in the calories you burned. That should make a dramatic difference. Just make sure you're getting enough protein in your day for energy. :flowerforyou: I know it's frustrating... keep your chin up!0

Sounds like you've hit a plateau. Maybe you should try to mix it up a bit in your exercising. Push yourself just a little harder to get thru it. That's what I read somewhere anyway. I don't think that dropping calories is gonna do it for you.....you don't want to go into starvation mode.

It looks like you are in the same boat as I am... age & maybe weight wise...
There was a post under food & nutrition - "Are you eating 1200 calorie a day?"

that happened to me about a month ago. I was losing weight quickly before, and then for about a month I saw NO results.
If you are sure you're burning that much a day, I would think about upping your calorie intake personally. Or trying different exercise! That worked for me.

I get the whole bumping the calories and all, but I think in the back of my head I'm still saying "how the heck am I going to lose weight if I eat more". I'm eating enough. Jeez, isn't that what got me here in the first place!0

I know it gets hard. Plateaus suck! Trust me, March and April have been hard months for me, so I do know.
I also know it's hard to eat MORE...but think about it for a minute. If you weren't "dieting" (I hate that word because it's a lifestyle change for me), and ALL you were doing to lose weight is exercise, then of course it would make NO sense to eat those calories back. But, when you are already lowering your calories to a certain point to lose weight, and you are at a deficit ALREADY before exercising, then eating some of those exercise calories back is not going to hurt you. You don't have to eat every single one, but eating some is FINE.0 -

I just reallyl don't know what else to do. I have easily lost weight in the past without even counting calories (of course I'm 40 now, so maybe that is hurting me more than I think)???????:sad: :explode:0 -

I don't ever eat over 1500 calories in a day... I eat at least 1200 and don't go over 1500. I eat the same everyday... and exercise 6 days a week, 1 rest day of exercise and 1 day of eating freely but smartly, but I never do a cheat day of eating on a day off of exercise. My trainer told me not to eat the calories burned if I want to loose weight but I have to eat 1200 calories. And I lost 15 pounds in 4 weeks by doing this.

I would up your calories to your BMR level--it's only 168 more, so many people have said they lose more weight when they up their calories.0 -
Just focus on eating healthy, being active and in the company where ppl are focusing on being fit. Plus honestly enter your daily calorie intake and burned, you will get the results. In addition, if you have lost 2 lbs in a month and you had to lose say 10 lbs total then you have done a very good job of losing 20%. So in no way this achievement is meaningless. If you think of fitness as something which is done for a month or even a year and then to get back to old habits then you are going to repeat this thing over and over again. Just try to incorporate fitness in your life style. Doing now, to do it forever. Goodluck.0

Just on note on the eating more.
I was stuck at the same weight for a month or more - which I could live with. Then I started gaining weight - like 5 pounds up from where I was. It wasn't TOM, or eating over my calories. One day - by fluke- I at about 2000 calories (total - 700 over) and didn't exercise. I lost a pound the next morning (I know - bad to weigh every day, but I can't help it). I've upped my calories to losing only half a pound a week and have lost another pound. I think my body didn't like to cals that low. I know I have more muscle than I used to because I can actually feel the muscle in my legs and see some (if I look real close) definition in my arms. My normal work outs include - running (6.2 mph), elliptical, step mill, circuit (interval weights class) walking and sometimes the bike. I usually aim for 60 min/day for an average.
I guess in a round about I'm saying maybe try eating a few more calories - Peanut butter is a great way to add healthy calories if you're having a hard time getting them in .0 -
I don't eat my excercise calories........ I know you're supposed to and I know the reasons why, but I statred off eating them all and I lost nothing for 2 weeks! Now I don't eat them, but I do eat my 1200 a day plus a splurge once in a while, and I burn about 2-400 a day from excercise. I'm not RECOMMENDING this, I'm just saying that it is working for me.0
