I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but I'm having a bit of a hard time feeling motivated to do something with the time in which I would usually just snack and waste time. I'm trying to resist the urge to snack, but when I waste time, the only thing my subconcious knows is that its time to snack. Hm...dilemma.

So, who has some ideas on how to get motivated to stop wasting time. :-P There are things that I could do, but I just don't wanna (here's me whining again). Ok, I'm done whining, but I want to hear other peoples thoughts.

Not to sounds like some old dude, but I have been thinking of taking of model ship building. Once I get that down, move to the whole ship in a bottle hobby. You always have reading, or better yet, take a walk or something of that line of "time wasting".
There is other things, like reading, painting, and quilting(wife's favorite). Maybe just make a list of things you always wanted to do, and did not have time for it, and see what you come up with.

I spend alot of time here <grimace>. But I also look for stuff to do to stay active - cook a few meals in advance, swim or walk, organize a closet that needs it badly - stuff like that. Anytime I feel snacky - I just try to distract myself. Other 'waste time' stuff that's not a waste of time: look for healthy recipes on line, research something (a trip, a meal plan), make a grocery list, go to a half price book store, write a letter to your grandparents/favorite aunt/uncle, friends that live far away. Start a scrapbook? Organize your computer desktop and clean out your mail inbox (organize or delete). Ok, I'm running out of ideas :)

Work on improving your life in other areas: exercise, read, try learning a new language, etc.
Or you can cook, clean, browse the internet, play some video games :p

I read a lot. It helps keep my mind busy. I've found that when I'm bored, I eat.

Backpacking has been good. Lugging around a 20lb pack for miles allows me to eat more. And of course, the exercise from all the walking.

I also like to swim, I make sure that I don't take money to the pool because they have a concession stand full of junk. Oh, and biking too... I suppose exercise in general keeps me active and away from boredom eating.
