Driving annoyances.

I recently started driving more because I was hired at a job that's 30 miles away. I've rediscovered the annoyances of driving and here are just some that make me want to rip my hair out.

*People stopping at green lights
*Driving on my *kitten* when I'm in the right or middle lane
*Semis, semis, and semis.
*Roadkill
*etc.

What are your annoyances while driving?

A guy driving a company van with his iPhone rested firmly on the top of his steering wheel.

He almost rear ended me. If I had been behind him I would of narked on his *kitten*. Sigh.

    Let's see...

-People not using the passing lane correctly
-Being stuck behind someone who thinks it's acceptable to merge onto a 70mph highway going 35mph
-People braking on the highway for no apparent reason
-When there are 2 turning lanes that go onto an on-ramp to the highway and eventually merge, and everyone lines up into one lane because they are too stupid to merge together and then they end up blocking traffic because no one thought "hey, there is another lane that is completely empty. Perhaps I will go there."
-People braking before green lights......I was stuck behind a lady who kept doing this at every single green light. W...T...F...

    That is all for now.

Slow people, stupid people, ignorant people, and... well everyone else between me and my destination!
  • Texting while driving! I was out on my bike over the weekend and lost count of the A-hole DB's weaving like they were drunk. Also, very annoying is when people use a turn signal while pulling out of a parking spot or going around a curve. Really necessary???

    A-- riders.

Remember the rule: 1 car length for every 10mph.

People who wait till the last second and cut you off when a lane merges or closes for construction. ( even though there are signs for two miles warning you to merge) grrr
Also people ride my *kitten* by my house where speed limit is 20 mph and cops lurk for speeders.

My thousand year old neighbour that manages to drive his thousand year old car round the corner mere seconds before I’m about to pull out, so I'm stuck behind him while he takes every mother effin road I wanna take to my destination at the speed of crawl.

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I don't think there's enough time or room on this thread! lol

I can't stand people who refuse to speed all the way up to the posted speed limit. This business of going 5mph slower is maddening. Of course, they finally find the accelerator when you try to pass them.
Slowing way down BEFORE getting into the turn lane. It's there for a reason, and part of it is to allow you time to slow down.
Coming to a near stop before making a turn.
Not signaling until you start to make your turn.
Constant tapping on the brakes for no reason. (Not like a brake check either).
Driving in the passing lane when there is a ton of traffic behind you that obviously wants to go faster.
The inability to use a four way stop. It's not rocket science.. you stop first, you go first. Also, just because you don't pull up to the stop line after the person in front of you takes his/her turn does not mean that you were already "stopped."
    Accelerating very slowly.

    Oh, so many things!!

lol no. Very quietly in the parking lot hoping nobody saw me looking like a dork.

    Good observation though.

I use to drive the highway to work 38 miles each way.
The things that either annoy(ed), irk(ed), or just plain piss(ed) me off are
1 - unleashed dogs in the back of pick up trucks
2 - dumped off and roadkill animals
2 - drunks or sleepy people driving all over their lane or MINE
3 - people who drive slow in the passing lane and will not get out of my way
    4 - pot holes
    5 - dense fog

This, only for me it's the retiree from out of state pulling a trailer or driving a huge recreational vehicle. They can barely control the vehicle, have no idea where they are going, don't bother to learn each state's traffic laws, drive 15miles below the minimum and think everyone should get out of their way because they are allegedly bringing their tourist dollars to my state. News flash tourist! You dont spend enough in the Rv parks to make it worth putting up with you!!
Oh heck, don't get me started...

Stereos so loud that I can't hear my own stereo with the windows rolled up.

Texting or talking on the phone.

People who get in the wrong lane or don't get in the turning lane, and hold up everyone behind them rather than going around the block or driving a quarter of a mile out of their way so they can safely turn around.

People who drive recklessly in bad weather because they have SUVs. 4WD is great, but doesn't do a damn thing on black ice.

People who are such in a rush to pass you and then exit about 30 seconds later
    People who are inconsiderate
People who are willing to risk other's lives while sitting there texting
People who pass you and then slow down in front of you
People who ride your tail end
People who dont use their turning signals

One more. I hate when people try to run me over for stopping at pedestrian crossings. The crosswalk blinks when people are there and its state law to stop

People who think that the speed limit signs are only a SUGGESTION of how fast they should be going! Seriously if I am already going 75 mph BACK OFF!! I seriously don't see the need for going 80-85 mph, what so you can get to your destination like 15 seconds sooner?

People who speed up when you turn on your directional and then slow down next to you so you can't get in the lane that you wanted top get in.

Why? If I am passing people that are only going 60-65 in the middle lane why should i have to ride behind them? Now once I am done passing THEN i will get over but I have people do it when I am in the middle and right lane too and people that pass on the right are stupid as well

Nothin' wrong with passing in the passing lane. So long as you aren't policing without a badge.
    cheers.

-In Europe, the left lane is used for passing only. You stay to the right unless you want to pass, then you pass and get back into the right lane or else you will be mowed down. Hands down my #1 pet peeve.
-Cell phone usage in the car period.
-Old people who are still driving and clearly shouldn't be allowed on the road.

Construction. My city is being torn up. It's good in the future sense, but no one knows how to drive when there is construction. Or they get stupid because they have to detour and have no idea where they are.

I'm from Iowa, the worst if farm equipment when running late. Especially the ones that think they need a lane and a half.

The annoying & most entertaining for me are the people in their SUVs, Trucks, & AWD cars that think that because of their vehicle they can drive in the snow just like they do on dry pavement.

We have farm equipment, but it's not illegal to pass equipment in NC

We get a lot of northern Kansas rural drivers in my area. They don't know what a yield sign means, don't know what a flashing yellow light is, don't know what a turning lane is, don't know that you can turn left on red from a one way to a one way.....I live in a small town also, so...
I'm probably just as guilty when I drive in Omaha, Lincoln, or Denver.
