Been using another diet software to track but I thought I would try this because I like the calorie tracker better. I hope the forums are better as well. I've lost 6 pounds since October 1 and I am on ten days without cigarettes. Have a great week-end:happy:

Congrats on quitting smoking! I know how tough it is! The only way I quit the last time, several years ago, was with the drug Zyban!
Between the easy to use food counter (which by the way is SUCH an eye opener!) and all the wonderfully supportive members, you WILL be able to lose the weight that you want to, AND, it'll "almost" be easy doing it!
I recommend logging ALL your foods BEFORE you have them, rather than later, as it tends to lead to better food choices. (not to mention you'll know if you've got enough numbers left to have a night time snack, like I ALWAYS try to do!) Some people also like to weigh and measure some things, such as meats, rather than just estimating and possibly being WAY off! :noway:
Don't go making the mistake that if you have LOTS of numbers left at the end of the day that you'll lose even faster, because that DOESN'T happen. Feel free to read any info about the site in the "help" section at the top of the home page. And also, under "all topics", then "general", and check out the first few threads. They'll really help you understand how MFP works.
Before coming here, I had tried just about EVERYTHING out there, including hypnosis, TWICE, and nothing really worked until MFP!
Also, drink LOTS of water, it REALLY DOES help! :drinker:0 -

Thanks for all the advice. I started weighing and logging all my food since October 1. So far i like the ease of this site. I am looking forward to the support. The other site I was on had a lot of drama and arguing. I like to stay open minded and maybe learn from other peoples trial and errors.

Hi Rob welcome to MFP! This is truly an awesome site and I want to tell you good job so far at ditching the weight. Just keep logging every bit of food you eat, drinking the eight 8 oz. glasses of water and getting in at least a half hour or more of huffin & puffin workout's EVERYday and you will be another of myfitnesspal success's!
