Hi Guys!!
I see some are just starting out like me and some are veterans to this, but I need positive, diciplined people in my corner to keep me motivated. I have been yo-yoing for almost two years and it sickens me. I was never heavy growing up, so carrying this extra weight is all new to me. I had been going to the gym, but eating terribly (realized that combo did not work). So someone recommended I add this appt to my phone and REALLY watch what I eat with exercise...so I said I'll try anything! My goal is to lose atleast 30 lbs by the end of August....and 50 lbs total!! My starting weight......a VERY sad 217.4 lbs

You should lower your goal and go a bit slower....only because with the amount of lbs you have to lose the slower you go the better chance you'll have to keep it off. I want to see you succede.

I have always found that the more I get to the gym, the more I want to eat healthy - so a bit of (unsolicited) advice - don't worry overmuch about eating the most healthy things - just work on reaching your calorie target. I get to the stage where its like "I ain't gonna make all that effort and undo it with rubbish" so healthier choices get easier. take it one step at a time :)

Yes, I would definitely lower your goal, not only because if you loose to fast you have a chance of putting it back on, but you'll get discouraged. No one wants to see any person on here get discouraged. Focus on 1-2 things at a time, make slow changes because if its drastic it might hurt your body. With dieting add more fruits and veges as you go on and lower your bad fats and carbs. Think of food as your fuel for the day and set yourself up for what's going to help you when you want to work out. With working out if you don't feel comfortable running or anything like that start out walking and get yourself up to faster paces until you think you can start running. If you would like to add me send me a request and I'll keep you motivated:)
We all need each other because we all want to attain the same thing-Being healthy again!

Weight loss can be a tough task! You have to start with a plan on what to eat and what not to eat. The scale can be disheartening at times. Strength training is important and so is Cardio. I try to work out on an empty stomach and after i work out have some sort of protein, like a shake or an egg. Always have a fruit or a vegetable with every meal. Drink Water,Water, Water!!!!!! Take it one pound at time. Stay strong!!!!

I think you'll really love this app! It is a fantastic tool to have right on your phone and the additional support from everyone is great! My biggest suggest to you is to surround yourself with positive people and keep reminders of your goals around all of the time. I created a motivational board with quotes and photos of women whom inspire me. These are small steps that go along way! Everything will come together in time. Be patient as well. There will be bumps in the road and times where you feel you see no results. DON"T GIVE UP!

Hi..my name is Paige..in the same boat as a lot of people here. I have never struggled with weight until the last 5 years and the last 2 have been the worst. I weigh more now than I ever have and need to lose about 65 pounds. I am trying to just focus on the first 10 hoping that will make it a little easier. I have been under my calorie goal --just started 2 days ago--worried with the weekend coming up I will blow it! I will start Yoga soon and hope that helps..I have knee problems so zumba/running are difficult for me right now. Any suggestions or ideas that have worked for others are more than welcome and very apprecated!

Take it one day at a time, Ms. Tracy. I'll be glad to be your friend here!
