Is there anyone that has increased their caloric intake beyond the 1200, and eaten the exercise calories, and showed better weight loss compared to the minimum 1200 calories? I have been on 1000-1200 calories since I can remember. I have stacks and stacks of little notepads in a chest in my house full of food journals. I've tracked points and calories in all of them daily for years, and it's all the same...1000-1200 calories. My weight has been steady for years as well (I know the definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results!:grumble: ) BUT, THIS is the first time I've increased (or tried) my intake AND recognized exercise calories or points. I have lost about 2 pounds in 4 weeks, but I thought I was supposed to drop a pound a week! And when it says, "if everyday were like today..." I'm not near that number! My husband insists on me continuing to eat what mfp says to eat b/c he says that he's been telling me that i need to eat more for years. I'm just wandering if I need to stick with eating this much...like 1700 calories today! :ohwell: WOW!That seems like a lot. Just looking for someone who may have seen progress with eating more. Sorry for the LOOOONG post.
Lots of thanks!:flowerforyou:

well how tall are you and how much do you weigh will determine how much you need to eat. you probably do need more that 1200 calories. if your body needs more and you eat less your body will retain those calories. human bodies have a knack for saving fat for survival purposes. beleive me i tried to do the 1200 thing and didnt work. but i eat like over 2000 calories and excercise for at least and hour if not more and i have noticed more of a weight loss.

Yes, eat all of your calories recommended by MFP. And if you go over sometimes that is no problem as well. It has worked for me. I am very close, 4 pounds, from achieving my goal. And I can tell you that I have gone over my calorie limit countless times. I am consistent with my exercise and eating healthy foods 90% of the time. I hit a plateau about 4 wks ago but I changed my exercise routine and I broke through it. Good luck to you!!! :flowerforyou:

YES! I was completely stuck at 1200, even eating exercise calories.

I am actually losing weight at maintenance now! I know it's hard to believe that you need to eat, but you need to eat.

    EAT.:flowerforyou:

I've upped my calories this week and I'm hoping that I see a difference in the scale...I had not been eating my exercise calories at all...maintaining the 1200 steadily, and since I haven't lost any pounds..(the inches are still coming off), I decided to increase my calories to see if it makes a difference...we need to keep each other posted ... I hope it works!!! :flowerforyou:

Thank you everyone! It's so hard because I've trained my head to ignore hunger signs and "listening to your body" means nothing to me! Thank you, thank you!
