I just started myfitnesspal today - heard about it at work. I think this is great! I've been keeping track of calories, fat and sodium on paper - even tried an Excel spreadsheet - but it was too easy to go overboard. I really like how it keeps track of how many calories, etc. you can still have in a day. Seems more "official" this way, like Big Brother is watching, so maybe I can stay on track. Later maybe I can figure out how to do some of the cool things like showing my progress. I would like to lose 37 pounds at least so I can fit in my clothes and make my doctor happy - seems like I'm borderline everything, and I want to get below the line on cholesterol, blood pressure and sugar.
Enough about me - I'm ready to look and see what everybody else is talking about!

Find a group to be part of and check in with them every day. The best way to find a group is to go to the message boards and read a lot of the threads until you find a group that has what you want, then reply and say you want to join and then participate regularly with them and get to know them. My groups are 50+ women and senior golden sneakers. :bigsmile: :bigsmile: :bigsmile: :bigsmile:0 -

I am new also! I have high hopes as well! We share the excel sheet in common, I too have used this to track things, but agree I like seeing what I have left for calories on this. Its a great site from the looks of it!
