Has anyone used PB2 Peanut Butter? How does it taste compared to low fat PB? I see it is a powder and quite pricey, but I dont want to spend the money if it doesnt taste anything like real peanut butter! If you make a PBJ sandwich with the sandwich thins bread, do you just mix the powder in with your SF jelly or do you mix it with water first? Any ideas or comments on this would be great!
Thanks a bunch!

Do you mix it with water to give it the peanut butter consistancy or do you mix it with straight into jelly?0

I add it to my afternoon, pre-run proteing shakes. 1 packet of Lean Body Chocolate protein powder, 2 TBSP of powdered peanut butter, 1 large banana. Blend with ice and water. Feels like I'm having quite a treat but it counts as my meal.
You can also mix 2 TBSP with 1 TBSP of water and spread it on celery or a banana.0 -
i love it, just had 2 tbsp with a banana, gives me extra protein for my workout0

For a PB & J, make sure to mix it with water first. I mix it up in a measuring cup, then spread onto whatever you want! I think it tastes just like regular peanut butter.0

It's not exactly like real peanut butter, but OH BOY is it good. Instead of water I use a tablespoon of milk or almond milk to make it creamier. On sandwiches it tastes great! And in smoothies... and baked goods... and yogurt... and on ice cream. I love it.0

So far I've only used it in powdered form, in yogurt and over ice cream...but it's really good! I've stuck with "real" peanut butter when I want a sandwich/toast so I don't know how PB2 compares that way.0

It also tastes great in steal cut oatmeal.0

Great ideas! Ive only ate it in its powdered form..I keep forgetting I have 4 jars of it!0

I have a great recipe for "Cookie Dough Balls" that uses PB2. They're made with raw oats, and a couple other yummy ingredients. The recipe i use only makes 3 balls, which I like so that I don't eat a panful!
I also add it to smoothies, oatmeal, yogurt... Pretty much anything aside from reconstituted PB.
You can PM me for the recipe if you're interested.0 -
PB2 my way....2 tablespoons + 1 tablespoon water + 1 teaspoon sugar free, no calorie hazelnut syrup (from Sams)...my oh my! Oh soooo good. I put mine on whole wheat toast.0

THAT CRAP IS NASTY!!
Just eat regular peanut butter, and deal with the fat. It's healthy fats anyway... and it's DELISH.0 -

I love regular and chocolate...definitely mix it with water, I use just a tad less than a TBSP because I want it thicker. But so very good!0

I haven't found it locally, isn't it kind of expensive?0

I love it! It doesn't taste exactly like regular peanut butter... the consistency is a bit different, but it is very yummy and I spread mine on rice cakes for a mid-afternoon snack that doesn't kill my calories for the day.
BTW... from a health food store, I got my first jar of PB2 for about $6.... but if you get it from this place, a jar is only $4 (about the same as regular peanut butter from the store) and the 1 lb refill is only $8 and will refill your jar three times!!

Here's the recipe for Chocolate PB Cookie Dough Balls
5 Tbsp rolled oats (old fashioned or quick...each makes just a little difference in texture)
2 Tbsp PB2
1 Tbsp dark chocolate chips (I use Nestle)
1 tbsp honey (or stevia powder)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp water
Mix all ingredients together, and roll into 3 balls.
Depending on the consistency you like, you can refrigerate them (firmer) or just eat "raw" - that's what I like best.
Other add ins I've tried: right before eating, roll in some chia seeds ; add cacao nibs to the dough; add dried cranberries to the dough; roll in PB2 (kind of like dusting a sugar cookie...)
Enjoy!!

That recipe sounds amazing! Just found PB2 at my local commissary, so I will be trying them later!0

I just ordered regular and chocolate from Amazon. I like it, but it's a little $pendy for what you get.0

Oh it's definetly low cal and tasty. But is it rich and creamy or even AT all like "real" peanut butter? No. The flavors there, it's creamy, but it is NOT peanut butter- so don't go in with that expectation.

I mix it with water if I want to put it on like an apple or banana but otherwise I use the powder in shakes oatmeal. The chocolate pb2 is very good also.0

I'm not a fan of peanut butter, but I love the pb2! I've found so many ways to incorporate it into different recipes... So glad I tried it out And the chocolate one is fabulous! I made oatmeal yesterday with chocolate pb2 and a little bit of s.f. maple syrup- taste just like a no bake cookie. I'm pretty proud of that, haha!0

You're right. It doesn't have the same mouth feel as real peanut butter, and it's only 'okay' on sandwiches. I'll try it in a smoothie once my order arrives.0 -
