We are taking the kids to the zoo tomorrow. Would you track all the walking as exercise? I don't have a HRM, so I would have to estimate it.

Yes. I'd count it. I know you stop a lot but you can still estimate it and log it as "slow pace." Have a great time!0

If its not a normal amount of activity for you, I'd definitely do it.
I have an app on my phone called Map My Run, when we took our kids to the botanical gardens and arboretum we did a TON of walking around, up and down hills. I used the app which not only logs your distance, but your speed and average speed, which ultimately gave me a better idea as to how I should log it on MFP.0 -
Do you have a smart phone? If so just download an exercise tracker app. I use RunKeeper. Then just strat to track you walking when you arrive at the zoo. I've done this in tha past whe. I've gone to Disneyland.0

Iphone or Droid?
I'll check and see if the app is on droid0 -
I do have a smart phone. The only problem is my battery life is horrible. If i had an app going the whole time I'm not sure if my phone would even last all day. Do you know if the app will save even if my battery does die and I don't notice it?0

Yes, if it's clearly activity you don't normally do on a regular basis. Make sure you log it on the low end since you will be doing a lot of stop and go. Most cardio you log on here assumes it's a continuous activity without stops in the middle. It can make quite a bit of difference.0

When I go walking all day, yes, I track it. I usually use the lowest speed in MFP (2 mph) and only record about half the time I was there. I do that since I eat back my calories and don't want to overeat. If you want to record all the hours you're there, be sure to subtract your BMR calories before recording calories. If I exercise over 1 hr, I usually subtract my BMR calories from the amount.0

MFP has an entry for "walking - casual". Log about half the time you actually spend walking (probably something like 1/3 the time of the overall zoo visit) and you're probably pretty close.0 -
get a cheap step counter - or a good one
It's a good way of logging distance and pace0
