How Do You Keep From Sabotaging A Great Week?

Hi all,

I have this problem,

I have a great week, I work out several times from Monday to Thursday, but when Friday hits, something evil clicks. I feel the need to "reward" my great week with a slice of cake and ice cream. This is how I convince myself I'm OK: for dinner, I have a salad, and then I go to the very familiar table at the check out counter where they have individual slices of cake. Then I mosey on down to the ice cream section and buy a small (6 oz) container of Eddy's ice cream, wait for my two little ones to go to sleep and I enjoy me treat while scanning Facebook.

I felt it happening again. I saw two small cookies and usually that's how it starts.

I don't want to do this again. Have you ever had this problem? What did you do to overcome?

I've absolutely had this problem, so I started planning for it ahead of time so that I can still enjoy iwhat I want but work it off. Weekends used to be my nemesis because I would splurge without even thinking twice about it and not working out. Now I still eat what I want (not as much of it, of course) but I log it ahead of time and make sure that I work off the excess calories. And if I ever find myself slipping into my old mindset of "rewarding" myself for a good week, I just think back to how long it's taking me to lose the weight that I've gained back twice before and how I don't want to do this a fourth time. Not the most sophisticated of plans but it's worked for me.

One thing that will help is to keep the bad food out of the house. I find that I usually am a little more relaxed on the weekends, but TRY not to make it a whole meal. However, when the food isn't there, it's easier to resist it. Planning makes a world of change to. WHen you at least have your main meals planned out, it's easier to say no to the bad foods. Weekends are tough b/c of the lack of a daily routine. I make excuses too about eating one bad thing, and it can snowball. Remember this feeling and try not to go for that first slice of cake. Hard...yes! Good lucK!
