Morning all!
while I am not new to working out, I am new to the whole protein thing...I was wondering which is better for you and what the nutritional differences are between soy and whey protein? Just curious which would be better for me or if it even matters? I weight train 3-4 times a week, moderate training and I run 3-6 miles 5 times a week. Thanks in advance!

My trainer wants me on a 5blend protein during the day, it's time released and only whey protein after a workout within a 30 minute time frame. I haven't asked about soy, therefor can't say much about it, but 5blend protein is more efficient than drink protein shakes all day long.0

whey protein is the fastest absorbing protein and is perfect right after a workout, if this is when you are taking it. If you are taking it throughout the day, not after a workout, it won't make that much of a difference which kind you ingest.0

I've heard nothing but good things about why0

Whey is better without any question.
I'd avoid soy like the plague, be it in food or protein supplement.0 -

I have heard that soy is not good for you but I've never really known why. Is it because of the hormones?0 -
I just love my whey banana strawberry ...so good . Tried other brands and they just taste nasty .
On workout days I try to get 2-3 shakes in ..... usually mix it with 1 tsp of metamucil and 1/2 cup of strawberry yoplait source 0 yogurt .
Prolly not much help to your question but thats my 2 cents   :laugh:0 -
I'm curious about this too. I'm probably going to avoid the soy protein, but can anyone tell me a good whey protein to try? Decent taste, low-fat, not too pricey???0
