Do you guys thing McD smoothies are healthy? Are they worth their calories? I know they are made with juice (which usually has lots of sugar so that's what made me wonder if they are a good option after all). They taste good though!
I usually go to Jamba Juice but wanted to see what people on MFP think. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

    I personally dont.

I'd rather make them myself (if I were the type to drink smoothies), since I'd know EXACTLY how much of each ingredient I'd be putting in.

I'd rather get calories from actual fruit.

Do you use fresh fruit when making smoothies? Any base? cause I usually just put almond milk & some fruit & protein powder & they don't turn out tasting too good. Maybe I need to add something else like a yogurt or something?

I always make my smoothies at home - start with a base of plain greek yogurt, and 100% orange juice (or any other kind of "real" juice) and then add whatever frozen berries I feel for, and sometimes a banana. I LOVE them!

I find I have to use some sweet fruits like frozen banana or frozen mango, and/or some orange juice. If you just use berries it'll be pretty tart.

That's probably why my smoothies never turned out - i never used any juice. I wil try the yogurt & juice & see if they are any better. But then I just wonder how much different from McD's smoothies they will be if I use juice.
