I hate Cardio

Just a message I wanted to state.

I struggle with it all the time. Just boring to me. Whether I'm doing the treadmill, outside, or a cardio dvd . . . I dread it.

Anyone have the same feeling? Any tips?

  • I do to, using ear buds and my generic i pod has helped a lot, I kind of feel like I am in my own world, and I know I will feel so much better after completing my workout.

    The only thing that helps me is knowing that it is the cardio that burns the fat. I LOVE lifting weights but no one can see the muscle from my fat.
    I sometimes break mine up and do 15 min cardio, lift weights, then 15 min cardio again to break it up some!

    I hate it too. We have a bike trail outside my office, so I jog/walk at lunch three days a week. I know I will never do it once I get home, so I get it out of the way. I have a hour, what else am I going to do?

    ditch the straight cardio for something more challenging, for instance an interval cardio workout, or HIIT training, or cross country running, swimming, team volleyball or basketball (there are lots of leagues for adults) anything, if it's boring, don't torture yourself, find something fun, that way you'll do it because you want to, not because you have too.

    I LOVE cardio dance classes. Have you looked into something like Zumba? It's fast paced, high energy and has great music. Plus everyone in the class is laughing and working so hard and sweating that it becomes really motivating.

    Swimming is a great cardio workout.

    Or try some kind of group training like Boot Camp. You might be more motivated working out with a team or with a friend.

    I love the Beach body cardio... turbo jam and insanity. They are fun and the time goes so quickly.

    I hate it alone. I do cardio with a buddy. I also do alot of water aerobic classes at my local college. That's another avenue to check!
