Pedometer help

Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help me with this?
MFP has my BMR at 1700 and my daily calorie allowance (before deficit) at 2300 which seems to allow 600 calories for being lightly active.
I have a pedometer which I wear daily and initially I had to input my age, weight, height and stride length.
My question is, if the pedometer registers that I have burned 800 calories in a day can I put the extra 200 as exercise as this is over the 600?
It has a timer so knows if I was walking fast or slow and of course as it only registers steps taken it wouldn't account for going upstairs or any other movement so in theory is still likely to be under actual calories burnt.

I'm confused by why your daily calorie allowance would be higher than your BMR if you have it set to lose weight. Do you have your settings for sedentary?
I use the Fitbit and have MFP set to sedentary so all my daytime activity gets credited to me with that. My BMR is around 1700 and I am allowed 1550 for my weight loss goal of 1lb per week.0 -
Hi, in the 'my goals' section MFP has set my daily calories burned, for lightly active, as 2300 but I should only be eating 1300 to lose 2 llb per week. With a BMR of 1700, MFP seems to be saying that I burn around 600 calories for being lightly active, have I understood this right?
I am sticking to 1300 calories and so far am loosing weight, but can I use any calories over this 600 as exercise calories as it is over what MFP assumes I'll use?0 -
