Hi I was wondering if any of you has experienced problem with achilles. My weight loss is slow because i cannot do jogging or walking because of severe pain in both of my achilles tendons.I am taking pain killers. If anyone can share their experience on this topic that will be helpful. Thanks

Yup, me too! I have achilles tendonitis and bone spurs on both feet. It was challenging for me to get up & moving, but I find that the more I do, the easier it gets. My physical therapist gave me exercises to help strengthen and stretch the tendons. Another key I think is to find shoes that provide good support and don't hurt your feet. I found some New Balance shoes that work great for me. They have a lot of padding at the heel collar so it kinda forms a cup inside that doesn't rub my heel spurs.
I'm sticking to low impact exercise- walking, stationary bicycling and low impact circuit training DVDs.
If you're on pain meds, I assume you've seen a doctor. Did you do physical therapy? If not, I'd really recommend that. For me, they did laser therapy sonic therapy and deep tissue massage, as well as exercises. It worked wonders for me.
Good luck to you. :-)0
