Hi. o.k. so I have a jacked up spine and one of the only cardio work outs I can do consistently is those bikes they have at the GYM that are bucket seats were your feet go straight out, (you know?)

so any who I am looking into buying one for home, for those day's I don't want to go any where, but I am afraid to spend that money and have it wind up breaking with in a few years,

Any one have one of these bikes? and how is it holding up? and ALSO is there any good brands I should look into or ones I should stay away from?

I have one. It's a Weslo Pro and I got it at Kmart. I think it was on sale for $189.00. I've only had it since January but it's holding up well and it very quiet. I've been satisfied with it so far.

those are called recumbent bikes, they are a little more expensive than regular ones, they actually seem to be sturdier, I don't think it will break.

I have had this one for about 2 years now, and have had no trouble at all. In my living room right next to the sofa, so I have no excuse for being a couch potato while watching TV! Nice side benefit is that it is also pretty quiet (since I live in an apartment).

I had one several years ago. I believe the brand was Pro Forma. I don't recommend it. I was using it daily and it broke at around 30 days. It was "repaired" under warranty, but was never right again. After another couple of weeks, I took it back and demanded a refund. Now I have an elliptical.

I got mine for $35 from Craigslist.
    The brand is Exertec Fitness.

I also picked up an elliptical and Total Gym as a package deal for $75

Try Craigs, it might save you money.

I have a recumbent one also, have jacked up back and knee--other than walk, all I am supposed to do. It is wonderful, I like to read..takes my mind off my aching rear..
I bought a NEW one about 6 years ago, after my 1st knee surgery. Has not broken down, but to be honest, it was about $800+, and I have NEVER ventured above level1, speed 1, etc..
Friend me if you need one..

I have a ProForm 975s and while I love the convenience and comfort of cycling indoors in front the TV, the controls gave out rather quickly and now I must use MFP's exercise totals whenever I use the bike.
