calling all runners!

I have recently taken up running and was up to running 2km's on a treadmill last week (longest I have ever run haha!) and felt like dying at the end.
Today, I decided there will always be haters and to go outside to run because the scenery is so much more beautiful and therefore isn't as boring. I can only run like 1 minute outside... although I am determined to run a full marathon one day.
I want some new friends who are great runners who will inspire me to not give up on running. :flowerforyou:

haha well I'm not a great runner, but I'm a runner Any run is a start and you're right, running outside is way better than inside. The dreadmill makes me want to kill myself.
I love running because I really get the feeling our bodies are like machines... the better we fuel them and tweak them and love them the better they perform. It's quite amazing. And the burn is fantastic

Hi!
Starting off running is always hard but improvement is really quick!
I have ran one half marathon and will do another one in October. They are the most exciting events! I hope to run a full mara one day too..
The hardest thing about running is just getting your endurance up. It is really true that you have to break through a barrier and once you do that it feels like you could run forever! I love that feeling. I love it when I am a bit lighter and then it makes running a lot easier and more enjoyable! (If I feel a bit chunky I can almost feel myself jiggling about haha. Maybe thats in my head!)0 -

I've been running for 11yrs...never was one but gained a lil weight so I needed to do something. I lost 25lbs in 2 months by only doing 3 miles a day. After getting with friends from work who pushed me...I started slowly increasing my daily miles. The one thing that really sent me over the top, was watching the "biggest loser" their last challenge was to do a marathon ('09). I was like oh hell no.......the next day...I started training for one...now I just completed my 2nd marathon this past Oct. in Baltimore...my first was '10 Delaware...I just love to runnnnnnnnnnnnn.........:glasses:0

I love to run. It's my favorite exercise. I was on the cross country team for my school and have ran a couple of 5k events. I'm hoping to work my way up to running half marathons and marathons.
Anyone can add me.0 -
I just finished week 5 of c25k. Just 6 (repeated a week) I could barely run a minute. Today I ran 20 minutes.
Feel free to add me0 -
Been running for a year now and loving it!

When I run I just feel free and that kind of feeling cant be bought lol It's definitely harder in the beginning and I'm not super fast or anything but what really helped me to run longer distances was just slowing down and finding a nice pace that my body could keep up with for longer periods of time and then you can gradually build up speed once you have the endurance down. Once you experience your first runner's high you'll keep going back for more.0
