Hey, I was just wondering a couple things about all of those who have lost 10lbs per month. So, did you work out everyday? And if you did, how long, and what exercises? Also, how many cheat days did you have? That's all I got, thank you!

assuming that you do, as your ticker suggests, only have about this much to lose, I'd have to say your chances of healthily losing 10lb in a month are pretty negligible.

I would have to agree with that. Without knowing your current weight it would be hard to know.
I workout at least six days a week. I stretch, warm up on the treadmill then do about an hour on the eliptical at least once a day, sometimes twice. I do my strength training on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.0 -
If your ticker is indicative of your ultimate goal and you only have about 10-11lbs left to lose, you cannot lose it healthily in only a month. The closer you are to goal, the losses and numbers, slow down and get smaller. It's okay though because it is a journey and not a race!
I've been struggling with my last 5-10lbs for awhile now. However, it is more about body composition for me at this point, so I try not to put too much stock in what the scale says.0 -
I am a BIG o'l guy at 540 LBS was close to 600 when I started and I will say I work out 6 days a week and rest on Sundays. I was at 2600 calories a day but now I am down to 2400 hundred. I found I was not eating the extra 200 calories so I dropped them. I have been loosing between 7 and 8 per week, except this last week I only lost 2 lbs. I weigh myself on Monday mornings on a digital scale i bought. I do strictly water aerobics right now between 1 - 3 hrs a day but I am going to go to planet fitness and get a $10 membership and add 3 days of more Cardio and weights. I know this seems nuts to some people but people dont know my story about how I lost everything in my life that I loved.... Wife (she had an affair), family, friends, job, ministry, & my health. I am on a comeback trail.... "i WANT TO LIVE" This is my motivation so dont worry about people who say you cannot loose 10 lbs you can! Set your face like "flint" in other words get your game face on and dont let people or the nah says tell you any thing different. All of us are on a journey and you need to find what works best for you. Oh, and as far as a cheat day... Only have a higher calorie day once every 7 to 10 days, and dont go overboard. Trust me I know.

I exercise a little every day and more on most days. I bicycle commute to work! Kills two birds with one stone.
I also watch my simple carbs. I eat lean food most days, and every 3rd or 4th day, I might have something rich.
I realized that I used to eat rich food every day, and that is why my body is/was rich with fat!
I eat whole fat dairy and as many vegetables as I can stuff down my gullet. I average about 1600c /day, but net considerably less than that.
I try to listen to my body: if I am hungry, I eat. If I am bored, I drink water.
also I weigh myself every day, but I'm not so number-dependent. I just find it kind of interesting. I lose about 1lb ever 2-3 days and if my digital scale seems "off" I weigh myself on my balance scale to confirm. I trust the balance scale more, but it doesn't fit in my bathroom, so I only use it to confirm or deny said electronic scale.0 -
I lost 10lbs/month for 3 consecutive months.
I like to eat and I don't mind working out hard so I did an hour of cardio 7 times a week and then went back to the gym in the evening to do circuit training/weight lifting/more cardio 5 times a week. So 5 days a week I burned about 1500 calories from exercise and the other two days I'd try to burn around 900.
I had cheat days when I wanted to, maybe once every two weeks.0 -

No one is saying the OP can't lose 10lbs ever. They are saying the OP won't be able to lose 10lbs in a month because the OP does not have much to lose. The more weight a person needs to lose the faster they lose it as soon as they start trying. You are at 540 which I see it's reasonable for you to be losing so much weight so quickly. Thumbs up on all the stuff you're doing btw!0 -

No offense meant Matt, as that is great for you, but we do not know the OP's weight. If they are pretty low in weight and not significantly overweight, it would not be healthy for them to attempt to drop 10lbs in a month. Their ticker indicates they only want to lose 10 more lbs. I only want to lose 10 more lbs. I would have to do some VERY unhealthy things to accomplish that in a month because I'm not significantly overweight.
It will probably take me the next 4-5 months to lose the weight in a healthy way and keep it off (and that is if I don't screw up AT ALL along the way). You just can't drop weight so quickly when you are smaller. Weight loss slows down significantly. The max would be about 0.5lb per week. If I set my goal to lose 10lbs this month, I would either be severely disappointed and depressed by the end OR in a hospital. :P
Thus, until the OP comes and clarifies their starting weight, we were all just cautioning against too much ambition leading to unhealthy practices. If they are significantly overweight, they might be able to drop the 10lbs in a month.0 -
I just managed to lose 11 lbs. in the month on May, and I did something physical 29 out of 31 days in the month. I only went over my allocated net calories on 3 days throughout the month. So it would seem the key is to stay under your calorie allocation and to do something physical every day, but doesn't necessarily have to be the gym or a class. For example, yesterday I had to miss my normal Circuit Training class at lunch, so instead, I walked the dog at 4 mph twice for about 25 minutes each time, mowed the lawn (push mower), and went for a bike ride. It all added up to more than if I had just done my class!
Hopefully June will be close to a repeat because it will take my to my goal weight! Good luck!:happy:0 -

Like most others I had a look at your profile and noted that you only want to lose 22 lbs as your goal and you are basically halfway there with 10 lbs to go. So I'm going to make an assumption and while I could be wrong, I base it upon what I've seen on MFP, namely if people want to lose a 100 lbs as their goal, they usually set their ticker as 100 lbs, not 22. With that in mind you likely started out as someone who is not obese, but just a little overweight. With only 10 lbs to go, as Morkiemama pointed out, the closer you get to your ultimate goal the harder it gets to lose; and to drop 10 lbs in a month at that stage is unrealistic and likely unhealthy.
I've been on MFP for 54 days and I'm down 30 lbs, so yes I've been able to lose 10 lbs per month, but I started at 307. I have nothing to support this other than my own experience, but the fatter I am, the easier the weight seems to come off. I've also eaten pretty good and improved my sleep I get 6.5-8.5 hrs regularly. I also spend a lot of time in the gym, 4 days a week lifting, and 5-6 days doing 40-90 minutes of cardio - running, biking, step-mill, arc machine, walking, rowing - I mixed it up a lot at the start because I didn't want to pound my body too hard.
As for cheat days, I don't believe in them myself, because if I really want something whatever day it is, I eat it, as long as I can fit it into my calories. Tonight, I'm going out for some pizza and a beer, and I'm off to the gym this aft. and I'm going to put in a hard workout to earn my pizza and beer. I've found with doing this I stay on track and don't have a cheat day turn into two, and into a cheat week, etc. Plus, I like the idea of working hard to earn a meal I really like, such as pizza. It also stops the cravings, because I know I can have it, usually about once a week, I just have to earn it.
Getting back to you, you want to lose 10 lbs, I like others think that's unrealistic if you are where I think you are weight wise. But, at the same time, that doesn't stop you from eating healthy and getting the food and calories needed to fuel your body and workouts and then working out hard (assuming you are already working out) for the month and seeing where that gets you. Not to mention, when you get close to your goal weight, it's not always the scale that's the best judge, it's how you feel and how your clothes fit and how strong you are.0 -
I exercise for at least 30 minutes 5-7 days per week and am eating a vegan diet. I've been losing 15 pounds per month so far.0

to lose 10lb in a month you need to rank up 35,000 calorie deficit. That is just over 1000 per day, any cheat days will condense this down. If its only 1 month you are interested in you should be able to forgo cheat days for those 30 days. As for exercise it depends on how you feel and what you can fit in. I found 3 days on then 1 day off/light day works best, sometimes 2 days on 1 day off when too busy with work etc.0

I got close to 10 last month. I see a nutritionist/dietician though. I went from 132.8 to 125.4. Now, I am 124.8...
Some days I ate 1200 and some days I ate 1500. I just started logging better foods, and went Pescatarian (personal decision)
I ate a lot of breads with added fiber and flax seeds, and even black beans. Lot's of Greek yogurt for snacks with a little Fiber one on top. Some nights I would have 1T of peanut butter before bed... umm, and I drank 10 cups of water per day, but none after 6 (unless I really needed it). I fueled my body with the right stuff.
I honestly think I just (and I use this term loosely) "detoxed" my body of a lot of bad things, and got rid of water weight. I also didn't log cleaning even if it was vigorous, but I did eat a bit more on those days.
Anyway, you probably can do it, but you must be strict and stick to something you can maintain. The things I did.. I continue to do. I feel great. I also think my dietician was helpful in teaching me proper foods.0
