Is this too much?

So I have an indoor cycling bike that I use as my main source of cardio. I have a DVD that has three different 30 minute programs: hills, flats, and intervals.
Normally I only do one workout at a time for the day...lately it's been the flats. My question is, would it be OK for my leg muscles to do flats in the morning and then intervals at night in the same day? So an hour total give or take.
I just don't want to push anything and cause an injury...but an hour honestly to me doesn't sound crazy. It is a very intense workout no matter which one you pick but I figure if I break them up like that it would be OK?
Thanks!

I honestly don't think it would be bad...if you have been cycling for a while already, why not double workout it up?...I often do that...or ride my indoor bike for an hour and a half sometimes...it depends on what you think your body can handle ...I say go for it0

If you have been riding for a while and your form is good then I do not see a problem with stepping it up. I am a SPINNING instructor and just finished a 80 minute ride.
Good luck and have fun with it!0 -
At your age? Absolutely no problem.
By the way, you're extremely beautiful :-)
You know what you'd love -- get a ROWING MACHINE. It sounds like in a way the bike is too easy for you. Get a rowing machine, and you'll be back here puking and saying you hate rowing machines and is 10 minutes a day enough Enjoy !
the bike really sounds too easy for your shape and youth ..0 -

Hey thanks!
Yeah I have been spinning now for about almost a year
my other question is I recently about almost 2 months ago fractured my foot...I can walk on it fine now but thats why I have been doing flats instead of intervals...whats your thoughts on standing on the bike after this amount of time?0 -
I think it would be fine. There are lots of people that bike both ways to work so why couldn't you use your bike at home twice a day0

Wow well thank you!
I haven't used a rowing machine in a loooong time, thats a great idea. I swear the living room in my place has turned into a gym, even the coffee table is off in the corner hahah0 -

Great, I'm excited...double the results hopefully!0 -
The best way to gauge it, is to try it. Listen to your body, if it's saying no more and it hurts, not uncomfortable but actually HURTS, try instead of 2 30 minutes, do 2 20 minutes...0

Good idea, I was thinking of breaking down the second one to 15 or 20 and see how it felt0 -
No it doesn't seem like too much, but why don't you incorporate some strength training in there instead of just cardio? A change up of DVD's and different type of exercise will more likely keep you more interested.0

Hey thanks for the reply,
For sure I actually do P90x (only the weight lifting ones, cant be noisy on the 2nd floor in my apartment haha) about 3 times a week as well on top of the spinning bike and sometimes I'll throw in the buttlift dvds in there too0 -
Update:
I did it! After all the encouraging notes I went ahead and did another DVD workout of 30 minutes...I am so tired but feel AWESOME. What a great exercise day0 -
If it does not hurt during the ride and also not afterwards, go for it. But if you start feeling it, stop and wait a little longer!0
