    I live in Sonoma, Northern California (USA). I'm about an hour north of San Francisco, in the wine country. Just north of me are some really big redwood forests. It's beautiful here!! Just another reason to get fit and enjoy it more than I currently do. =)

    Good Old Germany, now living in MICHIGAN/USA

    Ginder, I LOVE Germany – my mom's half of the family is from the NE part of the country, near the sea. My great grandparents came to the USA and settled in a German community in Kansas, and continued to speak German until finally my mom and her siblings only really learned English.

    I met some really cool exchange students in high school and ended up spending a summer in Heilbronn, near Stuttgart (though we traveled all over – even to Switzerland and Austria). It was so beautiful and the people were warm and the beer was nice and cool! I also took 3 years of the language once I got back to the States and went to university.

    How long have you been in the USA? Do you like it here? Have you had much opportunity to travel? Just curious :smile:

    Nice to meet you and glad you joined this site! I'm a noob still, but I'm really enjoying it so far.

    My husband and I live in Portland, OR, home to some of the most delicious food on the west coast. We live literally feet away from food carts of all sorts, pizza, tasty burgers, and bakeries. It's our habit to procrastinate on cooking and just end up eating out, but now we will just have to start going to the farmer's market instead. I think our biggest challenge will be mustering up the energy to put a meal together at the end of the day, and resist the temptation of fresh french fries.
