Weighing and logging fruit.

So I had a pear, and I weighed it before I started into it. It was 300 grams. (1.6 medium pears on the MFP counter)... So after I finished, I weighed what I didn't eat, which was the core and a large chunk I dropped on the floor. It came up to 192g (or 1.06 medium pears on the MFP counter.)

The first one was 160 calories, and the second was 106. I am right to take the core and uneaten chunk out? Or no?

I know this is awfully anal, but it's just my way.

    I would say that the core should be left in the weight because it's part of the medium sized pear, but you can subtract the chinch that fell.

    Personally I'm not this strict when it comes to fruit, I log it but it's a huge estimate especially when eating anything in the melon family.

    That's what you ate, log it that way.
    I know I have ran across fruit that can be logged as ounces or grams. This is basically what I do.
    Log the weight of what you ate.

    It's what I do *shrug*. If I weigh a banana, I do it without the peel. I generally slice my apples and pears so I don't have to weigh it twice.

    I'm actually a little Type A as I cut every piece of fruit up into pieces- and weigh it! That way I know exactly what I eat. Even what I take to work everyday and eat at home- is weighed to the gram.

    Yup. Everything in grams. I have a scale that goes reasonably to the .01 grams, though I've only tested it for accuracy with .1 and .5 gram weights so I say it is accurate to the tenth.
